This Constitution was agreed at the inaugural Annual General Meeting of the present League held at the Horse and Groom Public House, Carholme Road, Lincoln on Sunday 15 October 1989. Present at the meeting were:

THE NAME OF THE LEAGUE SHALL BE THE "LINCOLN AND DISTRICT CRIB LEAGUE" REFERRED TO AS "THE LEAGUE". THE HEADQUARTERS OF THE LEAGUE SHALL BE AT A PLACE NOMINATED BY THE COMMITTEE.
THE AIM OF THE LEAGUE SHALL BE TO PROMOTE COMPETITIVE PLAYING OF CRIBBAGE.
- An Annual General Meeting (AGM) shall be held on the second Sunday in October each year commencing at 7.30 pm, the venue to be the League headquarters.
- At the AGM a committee of seven members, to include Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer, shall be elected to manage the affairs of the League. Committee members must at all times be playing members of a fully paid up League team. The out-going Chairman shall conduct the business of the AGM until a Chairman is elected at the following Committee meeting.
- At a Committee meeting held after the AGM the committee shall appoint Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer from amongst themselves. The Committee is empowered to co-opt up to four additional committee members who must be playing members of a fully paid up League team at all times. Co-optative members of the committee shall have the same rights as elected committee members. The committee shall have the power to fill casual vacancies on the committee by co-option.
- Nominations for election to the Committee signed by the nominee, the proposer and seconder must be received by the League Secretary fourteen days before the AGM. The out-going Committee is automatically eligible for re-election without the need for nomination papers unless a resignation has been received.
- A quorum of three will be required to open a meeting.
- At the AGM, reports shall be presented by the Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer whose report shall include an income and expenditure account and a balance sheet signed by the Treasurer, an external audit shall be carried out annually.
- An Extra-Ordinary General Meeting may be called by the Committee or at the request of no less than six fully paid up League teams.
- Extra-ordinary General Meetings should be notified to all fully paid up member teams at least fourteen days prior to the date of the meeting.
- Each fully paid up team and each committee member shall be entitled to one vote in any matter arising at the Annual General Meeting or an Extra-ordinary General Meeting.
- Voting at meetings shall be determined by the majority of members eligible to vote. The Chairman shall have a second, or casting vote. Members with a pecuniary interest should declare the same and refrain from discussion or voting.
- Fully paid up Teams from pubs and clubs within the local area may enter one or more teams in any competition organised by the Committee.
- All games should be played according to the League rules as issued to each team. Changes to the playing rules may only be made on a majority vote at a General Meeting.
- In addition to the trophies and prize monies awarded to League Winners and Runners up in each Section a Consistency Award, at the Committee's discretion, shall be made to the Team scoring the highest average score in the second half of the season. Prize money amounts shall be at the discretion of the Committee.
- Additional trophies and prize monies will be awarded for the Champion of Champions (ie the winners of the competition between the winners of each league section), the Team Knockout Competition and the Pairs Knockout Competition.
- Any changes to the Constitution of the League may only be made on a majority vote at an Annual or Extra-ordinary General Meeting.
The Secretary of the League holds the original signed document, which may be viewed on request.
The following amendments were made to the Constitution at the Annual General Meeting held at the Plough, The Green Nettleham on 8 October 2006.
